Shaina Peng

Master’s in Counseling Intern

Meet Shaina, a proud Austinite, who brings her passion for supporting others at Austin Therapy for Girls. With a natural ability to connect with others, Shaina creates a space where clients feel seen, heard, and valued. She draws from evidence-based approaches such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), guiding clients toward emotional balance, self-awareness, and lasting change. Her approach emphasizes empathy, patience, and respect, allowing clients to feel supported in every session.

She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at The University of the Cumberlands. Before following her calling to become a therapist, Shaina earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business from the University of Texas at Austin. Her blend of business acumen and heart-centered service gives her a unique perspective on growth, adaptability, and the human experience.

When she’s not working or studying, Shaina enjoys taking strolls through Austin’s greenbelt trails with her dog, Kiwi, exploring the city’s dynamic food scene, and catching up with friends over a cup of locally brewed coffee. She also has a love for creative expression, whether it’s through journaling, listening to music, or trying her hand at DIY projects. Shaina believes that small moments of joy and reflection can have a big impact on mental well-being, a belief she brings into her counseling practice.

With a heart for helping others and a passion for supporting her community, Shaina looks forward to empowering her clients to find strength, clarity, and resilience in every stage of life.

Due to having two therapists with the same name, please refer to Shaina as Shaina P. when making appointments.
