Molly Mead
LCSW
Molly Mead LCSW came to Austin in 2016 to study at the Steve Hicks School of Social Work at the University of Texas at Austin and hasn’t left since. While wearing many hats in her social work career over the last 8 years, she has come to love private practice where she can foster relationships with clients and their families to facilitate positive change. She aims to lead her actions with values of curiosity, kindness and humor.
Molly utilizes ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), ERP (exposure and response prevention) and Solutions Focused Brief Therapeutic interventions in her work, but overarchingly focuses on what is going to be best for each individual client and the changes that they’re trying to make. Therapy is about learning and Molly loves to be a cheerleader alongside her clients to empower them and instill radical self-acceptance while also fostering room for growth.
While excited to work with all clients and the goals that they bring to therapy, Molly especially enjoys working with anxiety disorders, OCD, emetophobia, difficulty with sleep, self-esteem and friendships. She is also trained in the parent coaching modality SPACE (supportive parenting for anxious childhood emotions).
Outside of the work sphere, Molly enjoys walking, exercising, listening to pop culture podcasts, reading, watching reality TV (a guilty pleasure), baking and playing with her dog Ozzie, who is 75 lbs of pure joy and love.
