Sunday Scaries No More
Group therapy can function as an independent intervention or complement individual therapy. Our Sunday night Scary Art Journaling groups provide a sense of connection on a day that many find anxiety-inducing. With decades of experience, our art projects aim to relax the mind and explore what hinders you from living your best life. No artistic skills are required; just come with an open mind and prepare to discover what brings you joy.
We recommend conducting an assessment prior to joining the group, and please note that our groups are not designed as treatment for self-injury or suicidal thoughts.
Starting Monday Jan. 20th ( MLK day) then Sundays till March 9th 8 sessions total)
- 9th/10th grade group 4:30-5:45pm

Art Journaling for Elementary, Middle and High School Grade
Uncover the Therapeutic Benefits of Art Journaling through ATFG’s 8-Week Program
Embark on a transformative journey by joining our highly sought-after art journaling group. This program focuses on utilizing tools for calming down, practicing mindfulness, embracing Shame Resilience inspired by Brené Brown’s research, and incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Hurry, as only eight spots are available! No prior art skills are required to participate in this group, as we will engage in creative projects to delve into significant topics such as:
- Releasing anxiety
- Recognizing unhealthy coping mechanisms
- Mastering relaxation and mindfulness practices
- Enhancing social skills
- Cultivating shame resilience (drawing from Brené Brown’s teachings)
- Applying cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques
- Exploring various calming methods for the most stressful time of the school year.
